Our Societies

In an effort to bring together orthopaedic surgeons, clinicians and scientists, MAKASS works closely with a number of International and national societies around the globe. These societies are divided into three categories:

Partner Societies: International Societies reciprocating activities for scientific collaboration and promotion of major international events. The Society should have similar scope and mission as ESSKA, accepting a partnership agreement based on a reciprocity principal covering major international events, scientific cooperation, education (i.e. fellowships), communication and promotion. If accepted by the ESSKA Board, a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) will be signed by the leadership from both Societies. Click here to view all our Partner Societies.

Affiliated Societies: Officially registered European National Societies in the field of MAKASS’s scope, interested in scientific cooperation and information exchange. A prepared list of benefits and duties are available. If the application of the society is approved by the ESSKA Board, an affiliation agreement will be signed by the leadership of both Societies. Collaborating Societies: Any officially registered Society in the field of MAKASS’s scope which does not fall within the above two categories but is interested in cooperating with MAKASS. This will enable a channel of communication for future collaboration, with an informal agreement of understanding. Click here to view all our Collaborating Societies.

Possible collaborations include:

Recognition of your Society with a link to your site on the MAKASS website.
Opportunity to send your event promotional material to be placed on the Upcoming Events table at the MAKASS Congresses.
Opportunity to collaborate with MAKASS on scientific projects and activities you would consider to be beneficial for the wider orthopaedic community.
Access to MAKASS Academy, the online educational platform to your membership.
In return, MAKASS requests that the Collaborating Society help promote to their community and membership ESSKA’s education and activities, as well as the major MAKASS events.
